Abstract

This study aimed to identify the degree to which secondary school principals in Qasabat Irbid Directorate of Education practice humble leadership, and to examine its relationship with teachers’ morale. A descriptive correlational method was employed. The study population comprised all government secondary school teachers in Qasabat Irbid (N = 4,785), and the sample consisted of 387 male and female teachers. A 43-item questionnaire was developed, covering two domains: humble leadership and teachers’ morale. After establishing validity and reliability, the instrument was converted into an electronic survey and distributed to teachers between 10/5/2023 and 27/5/2023. The results indicated that the degree of principals’ practice of humble leadership was high. No statistically significant differences were found in participants’ responses according to gender, educational qualification, or years of experience. The findings also showed a positive correlation between principals’ humble leadership and teachers’ morale. From an applied educational perspective, these results highlight the importance of integrating humble leadership principles into school leadership preparation and professional development programs as a practical means to enhance teachers’ well-being, motivation, and school climate. Several recommendations were proposed in light of these findings.
