Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics Statement
The Jordan Journal of Applied Science – Humanities Series (JJOAS-H) is committed to high ethical standards in scholarly publishing. This statement applies to authors, editors, reviewers, and Editorial Board members and is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.
Ethical Approval
Research involving human or animal participants must receive prior approval from an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).
Authors must provide documentation identifying the approving body, approval date, and approval number. The manuscript must explain compliance with applicable ethical requirements, including informed consent, participant privacy, and animal-welfare standards. Authors may consult the APA Publication Manual (7th ed., 2020) for reporting guidance.
Funding Disclosure
Authors must disclose all sources of financial support, including the names of funding organizations and grant numbers. If no specific funding was received, authors should state:

Author Contributions
All listed authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions, approved the final manuscript, agreed to its submission, and accepted responsibility for their contributions.
Authors must include an Author Contribution Statement before the reference list. Contributions may be described using roles such as:

Authors are not required to perform every role. Individuals who contributed but do not qualify for authorship should be named in the Acknowledgments section with their permission.
Competing Interests
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other interests that could reasonably influence the research or its presentation.
The declaration must appear before the reference list. If no competing interests exist, authors should state:

Failure to disclose relevant interests may result in rejection or corrective action after publication.
Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies
Authors must disclose any substantive use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in research or manuscript preparation, including literature review, data collection or analysis, interpretation, text generation, translation, image generation, or substantive editing.
The declaration must identify:
The tool or service and its version, where available.
The task for which it was used.
The reason for its use.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of all submitted content. They must review and verify AI-assisted content, including facts, references, quotations, and interpretations.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors because authorship requires human intellectual contribution, judgment, approval, and accountability. AI-generated content must comply with copyright, privacy, confidentiality, data-protection, and research-ethics requirements. Undisclosed or improper AI use may result in rejection, correction, or retraction.
The declaration should appear before the reference list under the title:

Suggested statement:
During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME AND VERSION OF TOOL/SERVICE] to [PURPOSE]. The author(s) subsequently reviewed, verified, and edited the content and accept(s) full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and content of the published article.
No declaration is required for basic tools used only for spelling, grammar, formatting, or reference-style checks when they do not generate or substantially modify intellectual content.
Duplicate and Redundant Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript, or substantially overlapping content, to more than one journal or publication simultaneously. This applies to publication in the same or different languages, including Arabic and English.
Overlapping publication may be permitted only when:
The editors have given prior approval.
The original publication is properly cited.
The overlap has a legitimate scholarly purpose.
Authors must disclose related manuscripts that are submitted, accepted, in press, or previously published.
Research Fraud and Misconduct
Research misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, improper manipulation of data or images, unethical research practices, and deliberate misrepresentation of findings.
Allegations will be investigated fairly and confidentially in accordance with Journal policies and COPE guidelines. Authors will have an opportunity to respond.
When reliable evidence of misconduct is found, the Journal may reject the manuscript, publish a correction, issue an expression of concern, retract the article, or notify the authors’ institutions.
Image Manipulation
Images used as research evidence must accurately represent the original data. Adjustments are permitted only when justified, disclosed, and applied without obscuring, removing, or misrepresenting information.
Inappropriate image manipulation that results in fabrication, falsification, or distortion may lead to rejection or corrective action.
Transparency and Data Availability
Authors must maintain accurate and complete records of the data, methods, evidence, and materials supporting their findings. They may be required to provide relevant data or materials during peer review or after publication.
Data sharing must comply with ethical requirements, privacy protections, informed-consent agreements, institutional policies, and legal restrictions. Where applicable, manuscripts should include a Data Availability Statement explaining where data can be accessed or why they cannot be shared.
Respect for Participants and Vulnerable Groups
Research must respect human dignity, privacy, and the rights of participants. Authors must obtain the necessary consent for participation and publication.
Manuscripts should avoid unjustified bias, discrimination, or harmful representations of vulnerable individuals or groups, religious minorities, cultural communities, or protected and endangered animals. Submissions must comply with applicable international ethical and legal standards.
Defamation and Freedom of Expression
The Journal supports academic freedom and responsible expression but will not publish defamatory or unjustifiably offensive statements that may unlawfully harm the reputation of individuals, organizations, or institutions.
Integrity of the Scholarly Record
JJOAS-H maintains an accurate, complete, and permanent record of published content. The Journal will not alter or conceal the scholarly record for commercial, institutional, or other improper purposes.
Necessary post-publication changes will be made transparently through corrections, retractions, expressions of concern, or other formal notices linked to the original article.
The Journal treats all contributors fairly and respectfully and responds to ethical concerns according to the nature of each case and applicable ethical standards.
