Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the effect of using the Storytelling Strategy on developing oral expression skills in first-grade students in Sahib. The researchers employed a quasi-experimental approach. To achieve the study's purpose, the researchers developed a storytelling program and an oral expression skills test, ensuring the instruments' validity and reliability. The study sample consisted of 40 female students from the first grade at AL-KANSAA Secondary School for Females during the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, selected using a purposive sampling method. The students were divided into two groups: an experimental group of 20 students and a control group of 20 students. The study revealed that the Storytelling Strategy had a statistically significant positive effect. The study recommended that both male and female teachers use the Storytelling Strategy to enhance oral expression skills. Additionally, it suggested that school supervisors should focus on incorporating the Storytelling Strategy in education and conduct training workshops for first-grade teachers to facilitate its implementation in teaching.
