Abstract

This study aimed to assess the degree of practice in building language skills in schools affiliated with the Education Directorate of Mafraq Kasbah from the perspective of first-grade teachers, as well as its relationship to gender, academic qualifications, and years of experience. To achieve the study's objectives, the researcher developed a questionnaire comprising four skills and consisting of 44 items divided into four categories: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The study sample included 60 male and female teachers of first-grade students in the Education Directorate of Mafraq Kasbah during the 2020/2021 academic year. The results of the first question indicated a high degree of practice in the listening skill, while the other skills were rated at a moderate level. Overall, the results showed differences favoring those with higher academic qualifications, and there were statistically significant differences related to years of experience across all skills, with differences favoring those with more than 10 years of experience.
