Abstract

This study explores the degree to which secondary school principals practice visible leadership and its relationship with teachers’ organizational symmetry in the Bani Obeid Directorate of Education. Adopting a descriptive correlational design, the study surveyed 244 purposefully selected teachers using a two‑domain questionnaire (visible leadership; organizational symmetry). Findings indicate a high level of principals’ visible leadership practice and a very high level of organizational symmetry among teachers, with no significant differences by gender, specialization, qualification, or years of experience. The positive association between visible leadership and organizational symmetry highlights the role of leader presence, communication clarity, and accessibility in reinforcing coherent structures and shared norms. Implications include instituting walk‑through routines and open‑door policies, embedding transparent communication dashboards, aligning appraisal and recognition systems with symmetry‑supportive behaviors, and offering leadership development focused on visibility competencies (e.g., instructional presence, feedback loops, and stakeholder engagement). The Ministry of Education and school districts can employ these insights to design evidence‑informed professional learning and monitoring frameworks that sustain organizational coherence.
